Safety features are presently one of the most important aspects that need to be present in cars from the present generation. Hence, from the beginning of June 2017, Skoda will be updating its flagship models, the Superb Combi and the Superb sedan. This update will be applicable on the cars all across the globe. Besides the safety features, the Czech-based company will also improve the cars on the connectivity front.

The connectivity features that would be introduced by Skoda on the Superb series are parking distance control system along with Manoeuvre Assist. This system will also be able to detect any obstacles present in front of the vehicle. If you go into the in-depth details about the car’s safety system, you will find that it will not only warn the driver about the obstacle with the help of acoustic and optical signals but will also get the brakes on as and when required.

The Skoda Superb range will also get the Connect Care system irrespective of which trim or infotainment system you choose. The system will allow the driver to make automatic emergency calls in the event of an accident. It will also make and transfer voice data to an emergency call centre. Moreover, in addition to this, the cars will now have remote access via the Skoda Connect app. The Skoda Connect App, which will be connected to the driver's smartphone, can inform the driver if the doors and windows are locked or not, show the location where it is parked and also help in locating the car by activating horn honking and flashlights.

On the inside of the new Skoda Superb, the display gets Columbus navigation system while the screen size is increased from 8-inch to 9.2-inch. This system will have SmartLink Plus including communication applications, navigation and a high-quality infotainment system.

Along with this change, Skoda Auto has also introduced a new colour to the present gallery of Superb cars. There is a new Velvet Red colour added to the existing colours.
