Skoda to launch Superb facelift early next year. The flagship car of Skoda in India enjoys a special place in the heart of enthusiasts. The Superb was launched in the Indian Territory way back in 2004 and since then, the car has made a group of followers of itself. The Skoda Superb is in its second generation now and with the facelift model, Skoda has changed many things in the vehicle.
Skoda might place the new Superb at a stage during the upcoming Auto Expo. The new Superb will come with upgraded features like the all-new grille featuring the redesigned Skoda emblem, new head lamps with bi-xenon and integrated LED daytime running lamps, which are designed in a unique way to give a new identity to the Superb. The bumper has been carved out and worked upon again to make it stylish and sportier than any of the earlier models. The fog lamps have been redesigned to make simpler and integrating them to the air-scoop.
Skoda has also made changes to the rear styling and the tail-lamps look more like taken from the parent company Audi Group cars. The C-Shape tail-lamps, which are more evidently seen in the new Skoda cars will form the rear lamps. Skoda has also redesigned the alloy wheels and has added two new paint job – Meteor Grey and Moon White.
Interiors of the new Superb has been worked on too. The cabin gets many minute and striking updates. A new four-spoke steering wheel, new fabrics material and for the top of line variant, unique brown – ivory color combo has been chosen. The rear seat will get an option to adjust the front passenger seat, which will be one of the most used feature in the chauffeur driven Superb.
The engine options will more or less stay the same, the 1.8 TSI petrol and a 2.0 liter TDI motor will power the cars in the international market while the 3.6 liter V6 petrol will give rest to the enthusiastic souls.
Following the recent strategy by Skoda, we can surely assume that a six-speed manual gearbox powered by a TSI engine will form the base Ambition variant gathering most of the crowd and to give competition to the other cars in the market.
Skoda Octavia will launch somewhere around mid-February and will be priced around the same block as the current car. Stay tuned as we will bring more updates as we get them!
