Special edition Mercedes-AMG A45 revealed to celebrate double F1 win

Snapshot: Mercedes-AMG will be showcasing the A45 Petronas 2015 World Champion Edition at the last race of the season.

Mercedes-AMG is celebrating its double championship win in the 2015 Formula 1 by revealing a special edition A45 AMG. Mercedes won both the constructors' as well as the drivers' championship this season, for the consecutive years, with Lewis Hamilton behind the wheels of the winning F1 car. This win comes with the last race remaining which will be hosted at the Abu Dhabi race track.

Mercedes-AMG will be showcasing the A45 Petronas 2015 World Champion Edition (As it is called) at the last race of the season. The race is slated to happen this weekend at the famous Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. While Lewis Hamilton was crowned winner driving the AMG F1, his team mate, Nico Rosberg came second, winning the constructors' title for the Mercedes-AMG.

Talking about the car, the hatchback got only visual additions with no mechanical changes of any form. The AMG A45 gets petrol green and black highlights as in the F1 W06 Hybrid car. There's a bigger front splitter, bespoke flics, and a rear-mounted roof spoiler too. And to add to the flair will be bigger 19-inch cross-spoke titanium grey wheels with a petrol green rim flange.

The Mercedes-AMG A45 PETRONAS 2015 World Champion Edition will feature an AMG Exclusive Package, AMG DYNAMIC Plus Package, electrically adjustable AMG Performance seats in leather/DINAMICA, and the Night Package. A Performance steering wheel made with DINAMICA microfiber with petrol green stitching will add to the drama. The green stitching can also be seen on the dashboard, armrests, and on the air vents rings.

Like mentioned above, there will be not mechanical upgrades, and the A45 AMG will continue to be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The engine is capable to develop 381 PS power and 475 Nm of torque. Power is dispersed to all the four wheels via a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system mated through a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.

The gearbox is optimized to provide quicker shifts and helps the A45 do a 0-100 kmph sprint in only 4.2 seconds. All the customers will get a choice to order the car painted either in a polar silver metallic, designo mountain grey magno, or a mountain grey metallic shade.

To go on sale from January next year along side the launch of the facelifted A-Clas, the A45 AMG Special Edition will set you back by €65,402.40 (VAT included) in Germany. An additional charged will be incurred if you go for the designo mountain grey magno matt paint, which will set you back by €66,818.50.
