In order to rival the king of the scooter segment, Honda Activa, Hero Motocorp is preparing its new soon to be launched scooter model named Hero Dash. The scooter was first showcased back in January last year and it is said to have gone into first batch of production at the Hero MotoCorp's Gurgaon facility. It is where these spy shots of the Dash have came from.

Dash would be powered by an all new 111cc Single-Cylinder engine that will be good enough to produce power figures in the vicinity of 8.5bhp. The Hero Dash, would also mark a significant moment in Hero MotoCorp's history, as this is for the time the world's largest manufacturer of two wheelers in terms of  volume will use its own in house developed engine on its models, unlike Honda engines as found doing duty in the Maestro.

Hero is expected to launch the Dash in atleast two variants, namely LX and VX wehre VX should be the top end version and in this trim it should get alloy wheels, a silencer heat guard cover, and a much welcomed addition of a USB charging socket for charging of electronic devices. As for the rest of the aesthetics of the upcoming dash, Hero has bestowed the Dash with a part digital instrument cluster, a service reminder, an external fuel lid, under storage light, LED Taillight and a telescopic front suspension.

With the Scooter market in India growing 25% in 2014. It has become imperative for manufacturers to keep their scooter line up fresh and updated to keeping the accounts counter rolling!
