The 2020 Volkswagen Passat BS6 spotted in India.
It will come with interior and exterior upgrades.
2020 Volkswagen Passat will be priced around Rs 28 Lakhs.
Volkswagen has launched its 2020 Passat in the foreign countries and now they are testing the saloon in the outskirts of Pune before they officially launch it in India. Volkswagen Passat 2020 price is expected to start from around Rs. 28 Lakhs. It will come with new exteriors, interiors, features, and technology.
The exteriors of the 2020 Passat are now sleeker yet elegant when compared to the outgoing model. At the front, there is a new grille with four chrome slats that are flanked by the LED Matrix headlights. You can also see the front parking sensors placed on the updated front bumper. The side profile gets a new set of alloy wheels which seems to be about 17-inches while there will be an option of the 18 or 19-inches. There is also a chrome strip that runs along the window line of the whole car.
At the rear, you get a new set of LED tail lights which are more subtle when compared to the current generation. The rear has also been cleaned up with only the Volkswagen logo in the centre and Passat badging running across the boot just below the logo.
Speaking about the 2020 Volkswagen Passat interior, the driver will get a digital cockpit which is basically a fully configurable digital gauge cluster. Passat 2020 interiors will feature leather upholstery, steering wheel, and gear lever. The touchscreen infotainment system is expected to come with Android Auto, MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay.
Volkswagen will also offer voice commands, inbuilt navigation, and connected car features through an application on your mobile phone. The dashboard layout has been designed as a continuous AC vent that runs across the whole dashboard just like the Audi A4.
Passat may also come with 3-zone climate control, electric and cooled front seats and electrically operated rear sunblind. Moreover, there will also be a handsfree boot and self-parking feature.
The current Volkswagen Passat is powered by a BS4 compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine. The engine is capable of producing a max power output of 174 bhp @ 3,600-4,000rpm and a peak torque output of 350Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed smooth-shifting dual-clutch automatic transmission as standard.
As spotted earlier too, the Passat 2020 specs may offer a 2.0-litre TSI petrol motor that produces a max power of 190 PS and a peak torque output of 320Nm. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission. The new engine will be BS6 compliant and it will be re-tuned for India.
