Mahindra is going to introduce a comparatively safer TUV300 Facelift very soon.
Spy shots reveal the Mahindra TUV300 Facelift test mule with specific changes to its front fascia.
The Mahindra TUV300 Facelift could make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo with the launch happening sometime later in 2020.
The new stringent pedestrian crash test norms will come into effect from October 2020. All vehicle manufacturers are gearing up to finetune their vehicles to comply with the safety norms. In this connection, Mahindra has been spotted testing out its refurbished model of the TUV300 Facelift with cosmetic changes.
The front fascia of the TUV300 will get the maximum updates with the inclusion of a revised grille, a fresh front bumper along with a set of new headlights. One can also expect a more trapezoidal air dam along with rectangular fog lamps. A significant change is that the LED DRLs have moved towards the upper portion, thereby making the vehicle look different from the existing version. Though one expected the car to get LED headlamps, Mahindra has decided to continue with halogen headlamps.
If you look at the changes carefully, they resemble that of the updated TUV300 Plus. However, one thing is sure and that is that Mahindra is gearing up to meet the challenges of the new pedestrian safety norms that kick off from October 2020.
The spy images do not show much about the interiors of the vehicle but we do not expect many changes to the Mahindra TUV300, as well. The seating arrangement could be the same though there might be a couple of minor alterations.
Mahindra is planning to unveil the TUV300 Facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo. Hence, one should expect the vehicle to sport a BS6-compliant diesel engine. The existing 1.5L 3-cylinder engine could get an upgrade. There is speculation that the engine could deliver a similar output of around 100hp as it is at present.
However, the upgrades to the vehicle, especially the engine, could push the prices slightly upwards.
The Mahindra TUV300 is one of the better-performing SUVs in the automobile market. It will be providing competition to the renowned brands such as Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Ford EcoSport.
