Suzuki has just launched the Burgman Street 125 cc premium scooter in India that comes as the Japanese brand’s flagship model in India. The scooter is priced at Rs 68,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and initially the two-wheeler manufacturer is aiming to sell 10,000 units of the scooter every month. Considering the high demand for scooters in India, specially for the premium scooters, Suzuki Motorcycle India’s ambition seems practical and justified.
Speaking about the scooter, it comes with a very appealing design that surely lures the young urban buyers. The scooter takes design inspiration from Suzuki’s flagship Burgman 650 model. It gets a bulky and sculpted appearance with features like LED headlamps and daytime running lights, combination LED taillights, fully digital instrument cluster.
Carrying an aerodynamic styling, the Suzuki Burgman Street also sports high-set windscreen, wide handlebars, wide seat and a bulging front apron. Also, the storage compartment and pockets along with USB charging ports add zing to the model. It runs on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels and braking duty is done by front disc brake and rear drum unit combined with CBS.
This 108 kg weighing scooter gets a 5.6-litre capacity fuel tank. Power source for the newly launched Suzuki Burgman Street is a 124.3 cc single-cylinder, twin-valve SOHC engine paired with a CVT. This same engine works in the Suzuki Access 125 and it is capable of churning out 8.4 bhp of peak power at 6,500 rpm and 10.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. The Suzuki Burgman Street will compete with rivals like TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Grazia and Aprilia SR 125.
