Suzuki A-Wind Concept Revealed; likely to replace A-Star in India

Suzuki has now revealed the A-Wind Concept at the Thailand International Motor Show 2013, which is likely to be the car replacing the Maruti Suzuki A-Star in India, while the Alto globally. What further assures us of this hatchback coming to our shores is the design it shares with the hatchback doing test-runs in India for quite sometime now.

Suzuki A-Wind Rear

Painted in bright yellow and blue shades, the A-Wind looks much sportier than the existing A-Star. Newly designed bumper, grille integrated with headlamps and a deep character line across from the front fender to the rear door add more to its sporty quotient. However, the overall shape looks similar to the outgoing A-Star.

In terms of interiors, the A-Wind gets dual tone theme with black and beige shades. The interior quality too seems to have gone better, though dashboard is still very simple. The steering wheel and the gear-knob are leather wrapped. The concept also has a large touch-screen infotainment display positioned in the center above A/C control. 

Suzuki A-Wind Interior

The A-wind measures 3600mm in legnth, 1600mm in width and 1540mm in height, making it 100mm longer and 50mm taller than the A-Star. The wheelbase too has gone 65mm longer than the A-Star. The concept displayed at the Expo has 16-inch alloy wheels fitted on 185/55 R16 tyres, though in India it is likely to have 14-inch alloys.

The A-Wind Concept features a 996cc, 3-cylinder mill coupled with a CVT gearbox, though what the production ready version finally comes with is still unknown. Maruti Suzuki might also display this car at the 2014 Indian AUto Expo as well in February.

Japanese automajor, Suzuki has revealed the new A-Wind Concept at the 2013 Thailand International Motor Show. This car is believed to be replacing the Maruti A-Star in India while Suzuki Alto globally. The company might also showcase this concept at 2014 Indian AUto Expo in February 2014.
