Suzuki eyes 5 lakh mark in 2014-15

Snapshot: Thanks to the boom in the scooter segment, Suzuki's dream seems very viable in the year ahead of it

In 2013-14, Suzuki Motorcycle India sold 3.70 lakh units out of which scooters sold were 2.70 lakhs. Thanks to the sudden boom in scoter segment, Suzuki has a lot to gain this year and things look very promising for the Japanese giant.

On the launch of its latest scooter - Let's - Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, Suzuki Motorcycle India had said, "We are no. 2 in some states in the scooter segment and countrywide we are no. 3 in the market. This year we are planning to sell around five lakh units. This is a combined target for both domestic and export markets."

Apart from Let's, Suzuki Motorcycle India sells two scooters - Swish and Access 125, two motorcycles in the commuter segment - Slingshot and Hayate, and one premium GS 150.
