In a rather interesting update, Suzuki decided to utilize the Intermot Motorshow in Cologne, Germany like none other. They used the Intermot platform to showcase their 7 vehicles, including 1 new variant, 3 refreshed versions, and 3 completely new offerings. The Japanese auotmobile giant is striving hard to regain their lost market share in the motorcycle and scooter segment, both globally and in India also. They are looking forward to Intermot show for the comeback.
GSX-S 1000F ABS
The GSX-S 1000F is the faired version of the GSX-S 1000 motorcycle, and is part of the newly launched GSX-S series, which will also be the official bike for the MotoGP 2015 world championship. The 1000F variant gets all the benefits of the naked offering like the riding position and the ergonomics, but also features a fully functional fairing for the protection against the wind blast at high speed cruising.
GSX-S 1000 ABS
The GSX-S 1000 is the street naked avatar of the GSX-S 1000F and oh boy, it looks mean. The new GSX-S 1000 will get a MotoGP inspired, three mode traction control system and an ABS for added safety. The design will also include an all new frame for the agility which is the trademark for naked bikes. Suzuki GSX-S 1000 will be directly pitted against the likes of iconic Yamaha MT-01 and Honda CB1000R.
V-STROM 650XT ABS
Heard about Dakar rally and other rally racing? One of the most utilized category of the bikes in this category is the Adventure Tourer and the popular V-Strom 650 fall under the same category. Already a top-selling machine for 10 years, it will now get a new 650XT variant with more adventure related stuff added to the standard version. The 650XT will get a beak in the front as a standard design change, which is seen on maximum models in the adventure category segment motorcycles. Wire spoke aluminium wheels added with a new suspension system gives the bike a reason to run in a full adventure mode.
BANDIT 1250S ABS
Suzuki Bandit 1250 S is without doubt one of the best Sports Tourer of the world, combined with a lethal 1255 cc engine and ergonomics for those long rides. The 2015 version will get an updated engine and some styling updates in its basket. The biggest change of all is the newly designed front fairing which is developed by the Suzuki's R&D facility in Japan after repeated wind tunnel testing. The radiator shrouds are also re-designed for better aerodynamics with the air vents just below the headlight.
2015 GSX-R 1000 ABS
The GSX-R 1000 is the most iconic motorcycle from the Suzuki stable and has a direct standoff against the likes of the Yamaha R1 and Honda CBR 1000. Known famously as the Gixxer, the 2015 avatar of the bike will get the ABS as standard now. With the return of the Suzuki at the premium class MotoGP circuits, the Japanese manufacturer will offer the GSX-R in the replica colors of the MotoGP bike. The Gixxer won the 24 hours Le Mans 2014 edition under the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team badge.
The not so good looking 250cc offering from the Suzuki, the Inazuma GW250 will now get a new fairing for 2015. The faired version will be sold along with the naked version and the buyers looking towards saving the fuel can get this version, as it promises to deliver 30kmpl along with the comfortable seats for that city riding. The Inazuma faired version will also get an 'F' badge.
And last but not the least, or least indeed, Address 110 is the least capacity offering from the Suzuki at this Intermot Show. The all new Address 110 is a gearless scooter projected as one of the most fuel efficient scooters in the market with a 5.2 litre tank giving 50kmpl expected return. It is also a practical scooter with a larger 20 litre under-seat storage and can engulf a full face helmet easily. The overall design of the vehicle is light and sporty giving it an edge over the other scooters in this category. Although we are not sure about the name, Address?
While none of the motorcycles from the Suzuki was able to create the hype among the bike aficionados as the Ducati and the Ninja did, they certainly came up with a good news for all the Motorsports enthusiasts around the globe with the news of their 2015 comeback in MotoGP with the GXR-SS based motorcycle.
