As Bikeportal reported earlier that Suzuki will now be concentrating on delivering more premium segment motorcycles to Indian market. We can expect the launch of GSX-S1000 and S1000F later this year. While Suzuki is already selling some of its legendary motorcycles like Hayabusa and the Intruder in Indian market, both of the GSX-S1000 and S1000F are expected to join the grid very soon. Both of these models will be launched internationally in the month of june and are expected to hit the Indian shores in the same month. Recently Suzuki launched Country’s cheapest fully faired motorcycle ‘Gixxer SF’ and it is a clear indication that Suzuki is coming back to the game.
Both of these motorcycles share a same 999 cc engine. It is a 4-stroke, liquid cooled, DOHC, in-line four motor that churns out 144 bhp and 105 Nm of torque. It is the same engine that was used in GSX-R1000 (2005-2008) but tuned for the streets. KYB inverted front forks are common in both of these machines and a single, link-type monoshock at the rear.
Suzuki GSX-S1000 will go head to head against Kawasaki Z1000, Honda CB1000 while S1000F will fight against the Ninja 1000.
