The Indian subsidiary of the Japanese auto brand, Suzuki Motorcycle India has just launched the 2017 Gixxer SP at Rs 81,175 (ex-showroom) and Gixxer SF SP at Rs 99,312 (ex-showroom). Like the previous year, the SP edition means that the bikes get a new different looking paint scheme.
The Gixxer SP only gets a rear disc brake as standard while the Gixxer SF SP a slew of new upgrades such as a rear disc brake, fuel injection and a single-channel ABS system. Talking about the visual bits, the bikes get a new unique red, white and black paint scheme.
Since they are just the new 2017 models, they still run on the same 155cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivers 14bhp and 14Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to the same 5-speed gearbox.
The Gixxer series has been quite a hit in the Indian motorcycle market, we expect the company to launch the quarter-liter faired Gixxer in the Indian market soon. Since this segment is picking up the pace and is revving high with the upcoming launch of Yamaha Fazer 250, we hope to see the Suzuki Gixxer 250 in the Indian market too.
Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on the same in the days to come.
