Tata Motors is undoubtedly is on a spree to make its product line up more demanding for its consumers, where the homegrown automaker has popped out the eyes of the Indian market with the unveiling of its most awaited Harrier SUV. Alongside the Tata Harrier’s concept version (H5X), the company also showcased the 45X at the 2018 Auto Expo and the 45X premium hatchback is reportedly scheduled to launch in August 2019. The new premium hatchback was recently spied revealing some of the front details, even after being covered with heavy camouflage.
It would be the second product Tata’s stable to come with Impact 2.0 design language and will get the company’s ‘humanity line’. Going by the spied picture, the car seems close to the design of the concept that was earlier displayed and will come with sleek grille up front, flanked by headlamp units. The front bumper gets angular elements to the large air dams, whereas the A-Pillar and roofline seem slanting and more of a coupe-like profile. The boldness comes more with its shoulder line, running all the way towards the taillamps. The taillamps also get LED elements to it and the car rides on newly designed alloy wheels. Inside, the car is expected to come equipped with features such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, AC vents placed under the touchscreen, analogue dials, etc. to name a few. Nonetheless, Tata Motors has already confirmed this that product to don Impact 2.0 design philosophy will come with the good quality material in the cabin along with many storage spaces in the cabin.
Not much of details for the engine specification are known, but we can expect it to draw its power from a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine that also caters the Nexon. As far as the transmission system is concerned, it will be taken care by a 6-speed manual gearbox and an automatic transmission as well.
In the Indian market, Tata 45X premium hatchback will pounce with the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz as well.
