Tata Motors will be revealing the Tata Altroz in its production form in December 2019.
The official launch of Tata Altroz could happen early next year.
The Tata Altroz price could be in the range of Rs 5 to 8 lakhs.
The wait for the unveiling of Tata Altroz has been long, as it was already previewed at the Auto Expo 2018 and 2019 Geneva Motor Show in its close to production form. The model was due for a launch in August 2019, but it has been delayed until the early part of 2020.
The unveiling of the Tata Altroz in its production form will be in December 2019 before its official launch. The delay is because Tata Motors wanted to launch the vehicle with BS-VI compliant engines.
There are not many changes to the 45X Concept previewed at the Geneva Motor Show. The minor alterations are to the alloy wheel design and other cosmetic changes. This hatchback will be the first Tata car to be built on the ALFA Platform (Agile-Light-Flexible-Advanced).
The Tata Altroz interior focuses on a free-standing 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The AC vents get body-colored surrounds to add spice to the black dashboard. The hatchback comes with a new steering wheel and a partially digital instrument cluster.
Spy shots reveal a Google Assistant logo that suggests that the vehicle could come equipped with Google-powered voice-activated functions. Ambient lighting adds to the attraction.
Though the hatchback is reported to be the widest in its segment, it has a short wheelbase that goes on to affect legroom space. The vehicle comes with a spacious boot at 341 liters.
The Tata Altroz engine specifications are as follows.
1.2L naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine from Tata Tiago capable of producing 85hp power
1.2L 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from Tata Nexon that provides 102hp power
1.5L 4-cylinder diesel engine from Tata Nexon producing 90hp power
The hatchback will sport a 5-speed manual transmission system initially while the automatic variant will be launched at a later stage.
The Tata Altroz price will be in the range of Rs 5 to 8 lakhs to enable it to compete with the Toyota Glanza, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and the Honda Jazz.
