India’s two major automotive giants, Tata Motors and TVS Group’s TVS Auto Assist shall soon introduce roadside assistance and breakdown services for female drivers from June. According to the Women Assist Programme, set to kickstart from June 1, the automakers will regularly carry out quick service needs during late hours between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. and urgent breakdown requirements and solutions of a female driver of Tata Motors passenger vehicles.
As per Tata Motors, the programme aims to focus on fast service and solutions in the occurrence of accidents, battery breakdown, fuel shortage, flat tire, and other mechanical problems.
The company said that it is a first-in-the-industry initiative which considers Tata Motors' cognizance of the fact that women drivers are increasing in numbers and its responsibility towards offering a top class after sales facilities to them.
TVS Auto Assist which is a part of the USD 8.5 billion TVS Group said that the presence of women drivers is over two million in major cities all over India and the company understands the requirement of support services to help the women drivers out on roads during the wee hours.
