Tata Bolt Sport has made its first public appearance in India at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Bolt Sport had its world premiere at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The home-grown automaker has joined hands with Jayem Automotives for the development of such performance & special vehicles. The Bolt Sport gets cosmetic upgrades at the outside, while the engine is also retuned to extract more power and performance.
Talking about the exterior upgrades, the Bolt Sport comes with sporty new front grille with air dam, new front and rear bumpers with air vents on fender, high-flow exhaust system and anaerodynamic body kit. The hatch rides on 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Bolt Sport hatchback has sporty pedal inserts with body coloured embellishments, sporty black leather seats with red detail and contrast stitching along with leather wrapped steering wheel. The hatch has a wheelbase of 2470mm and fuel tank of 44 litres. In addition, there is the electronic power steering for added convenience.
Under the hood, the Bolt Sport packs a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. The engine develops a maximum power of 108bhp between 5300-5500rpm and peak torque of 170Nm between 3000-3800rpm. The engine is linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox, while it touches the 100kmph mark from standstill in just 12 seconds. The hatch also gets a multi drive system with three modes: Eco, Sports and City. Additionally, there are disc brakes presented with all the four wheels. Tata Bolt Sport would lock horns with Abarth Punto upon its launch in the Indian market. Expect the pricing to be around 8-10 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
