Tata Motors has grabbed pretty good attention at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show with its new sedan concept that is christened as EVision. The new sedan concept comes reflecting the brand’s ambition to become a more desirable car brand in the Indian market with suave, stylish and global standard products. The car is expected to launch in 2020 and it will lock horns with rivals like Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra.
The C segment sedan has been built on the OMEGA EV architecture. It has been displayed in Geneva as an electric powered sedan, but the India-spec model will get petrol and diesel engine options, as electric powertrain will make the car much pricier affecting its sales. It would get turbocharged petrol and diesel engines for the Indian market. As Tata Motors aims to have a completely new product portfolio by 2024, this car could play a crucial role in the strategy.
In future, when Indian market adopts zero emission pure electric mobility by the end of next decade, Tata Motors might launch the fully electric powered EVision sedan in the domestic market. The electric powered car is claimed to be capable of accelerating to 100 kmph from standstill position in less than 200 kmph. It gets both slow charging and fast charging technology.
The styling of the sedan has been done following Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language. It comes with a premium and elegant look that is visible from every angle. Not only at exterior, inside the cabin too, this sedan offers an elegant appearance with loads of high-end features and fresh styling. Also, it comes with a very spacious feel. Upon launch, the car will surely be priced competitively against the rivals.
