Tata H7X Concept will have its world premiere at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show on March 5. The new SUV has been already spotted as test mule several times on the Indian roads. It has been reported that the H7X will be launched during the festive season of Diwali in November in the country with prices starting from Rs 15 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom). Besides the H7X SUV, Tata Motors will also unveil the production-ready version of 45X hatchback at the Geneva Motor Show, which has been officially named as Altroz.
Tata H7X would essentially be the stretched version of Harrier SUV with addition of a third row for two individuals. However, the 7-seater SUV might not flaunt the coupe-esque styling and curves as the Harrier. As visible in the rendered image by Shoeb of IAB, it will feature more traditional roofline and a tad upright back glass. The H7X will not be as high on sportiness as the Harrier due to a length extension of 62mm. Though, sources say that the wheelbase will be identical at 2741mm but special attention has been given towards heardroom. Underpinning the Land Rover's D8 architecture as the Harrier, the SUV will boast of all the advanced comfort and safety features, many of them being first-in-segment as well.
Mechanically, Tata H7X will be available in diesel fuel trim only similar to the Harrier albeit with a more powerful engine. Rumormill is abuzz that the Fiat-sourced 2.0L MultiJet II engine which delivers top power of 138bhp and peak torque of 350Nm will generate maximum power output of 168bhp and highest torque performance of 350Nm with the H7X. The engine might be termed as Kryotec170. The SUV will be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. The 6-speed manual gearbox will be offered as standard while an optional 6-speed Hyundai-sourced automatic gearbox will also be on offer. This 6-speed auto transmission would also be introduced in the Harrier as well, though at a later stage.
