Tata Motors is gearing up for the 2019 Geneva Motor Show set to commence in March. The home-grown car giant will unveil four models at the upcoming motoring event, including the seven-seat Tata Harrier. It is being developed under the codename H7X, albeit Tata is yet to announce its official name. The company has released the first teaser image of the SUV days ahead of its official unveiling in Geneva. Aside from H7X, Tata will also unveil Altroz, Altroz EV and Hornbill micro-SUV concept at the 89th Geneva Motor Show.
The teaser reveals the rear three-quarter silhouette of the SUV. It also shows the upright tailgate. It is to be noted that the length of the wheelbase will be same as the five-seat Harrier, though, the overall length will be around 62mm longer to allow an additional row at the back. As for its styling, the test mule spotted lately was seen with larger 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and footboards. Visually, the front end is expected to vary a tad from the donor model (five-seat Harrier).
Besides, the Tata H7X could get a more powerful version of Kryotec diesel engine that will be tuned to put out a maximum power of 170 bhp. A six-speed automatic transmission sourced from Hyundai is likely to be optional on the seven-seat SUV. According to reports, the 170 bhp engine and the six-speed auto box transmission will also be offered with the Harrier.
Tata Motors plans to launch the seven-seat H7X SUV in India sometime by the end of 2019. Featuring an extra row, the H7X price is expected to be slightly higher than its five-seat version.
