Tata Motors’ most anticipated launch would be the Harrier SUV that was showcased at 2018 Auto Expo in its concept form. The production spec model will make its global debut in early December. Pre-bookings for the SUV has already started at a booking amount of Rs 30,000 and deliveries of the Harrier SUV is expected to start in the second-half of January 2019, following its launch in the first half of the same month. Expect it to be priced in a range of Rs 16 lakh to Rs 21 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors recently teased a video of testing the SUV vigorously on the terrains of Leh and the car was also spotted during the handling tests at the NATRAX test track near Indore. Tata Harrier SUV will make its debut with the introduction of Tata’s Impact Design 2.0, followed by the 45X that will be based on the same design philosophy. Initially, the SUV will be offered in a five seater configuration and will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Jeep Compass and upcoming Nissan Kicks, while a seven seater layout will join on later stages. It is based on the OMEGA architecture, derived from Land Rover’s legendary D8 platform. Inside, the Harrier will come packed with premium materials and features such as a 7 inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted controls, push start/stop, etc., to name a few.

Mechanically, Tata Harrier will come powered by a 2.0-litre KRYOTEC diesel engine that can easily make 140bhp of top power. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox could be on offer in range-topping variants.
