Tata Motors have unveiled the new Hexa Concept at the on-going 2015 Geneva Motor Show, which previews the next generation of the Tata Aria crossover. Moreover, the Indian automaker says that the Hexa concept unveils the new design direction for all the upcoming Tata SUVs.
Internally dubbed as the ‘Eagle’, the Hexa Concept shares its underpinnings with the Aria - except that it looks a lot better than the Aria crossover. While, the wheel arches, silhouette, ORVMs and twin exhausts have been carried over to the Concept from the Aria, what is new is the front grille, rear profile and the headlamps. The Concept features 190-inch wheels, which might be given a miss on the production model in favor of 17-inch ones.
The interiors have been tweaked as well with new dual-tone colour scheme and a prominent touchscreen interface. The steering wheel has been carried over from the Tata Zest and features controls for audio and Bluetooth. The Concept features six-seat configuration with captain chairs for the first two rows and a split-folding bench seat for the third row.
Under the bonnet, expect to see a 2.2-litre DiCOR engine that is rated at 157PS and 400Nm. Though the Concept features a manual transmission, we expect the production model to also come with an AMT.
The ‘’near-production ready” Tata Hexa is expected to hit the roads sometime in 2016.
