Tata Motors is busy making the final preparations for the Hexa, where the car has been spotted several times whether the car is on the test or be it photo shoot. The company first showcased the Hexa SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo, earlier this year. The yet to be launched Hexa’s image emerged online that shows the model being driven at an event in Jaipur.
It is rumoured to be a dealer drive and the car is being driven through a course of off-road track, exhibiting the capabilities of the model. Dimensionally, the Hexa 4,764 mm in length with a width of 1,895 mm, standing 1,780 mm tall and riding a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The Hexa has a double wishbone type suspension with coil springs at the front , while at the rear it gets a 5 link rigid axle with coil springs.
But the fuel tank of 60 litre is a bit smaller than the 63 litre offered in Safari Storme. Moreover, all four 19 inch alloy wheels can make an efficient braking via disc brakes. Inside, Tata Hexa will come equipped with a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system paired with a JBL audio system, mood lighting and for safety, it will come with six airbags.
The Tata Hexa is powered by a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 engine that’s good to dish out 154 bhp of maximum power at 4,000rpm with 400 Nm of peak torque between 1,700 - 2,700 rpm. The BS-IV compliant diesel unit will be coupled with either a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. The Hexa would also come with multi-terrain modes - Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and the Rough Road to assist during riding over gravel surface, inspired by Land Rover's terrain response system.
The Tata Hexa will make its launch in India in the month of November. The expected price of the Hexa will be in a range of Rs 12.5 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (Ex showroom).
