Tata Motors is readying its next generation of cars to take the Indian automobile market by storm. In the same line, they launched the Tiago hatchback back in April, 2016, which received a good response from the audience. Joining the Tiago hatch will be the Hexa SUV, Kite5 compact sedan and the Nexon compact SUV.
The earliest of the three to join the wagon will be the Hexa SUV, that will act as a long time replacement to the Aria crossover. Expected to be launched somewhere in the next month, the Hexa SUV has been spied shooting for a TVC completely undisguised. Unveiled in a production disguise first at the Auto Expo 2016, the Hexa is shot at the Manali-Leh highway.
The exterior of the SUV features an all-black plastic cladding and side sills, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, roof rails, chrome embellishments and dual exhaust tailpipes. It will come equipped with features like the ESP (electronic stability program), optional 6-seat configuration with captain seats, Harman touchscreen infotainment system, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.
Powering the Hexa will be the Tata’s 2.2L VARICOR turbodiesel engine that can produce 156.2 hp and 400 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox will be on offer with an AWD system also available as an option in the top-end grade. 'Badged' ‘XMA’, the spied Hexa suggests that an automatic be available in lower grades as well.
