Tata’s crossover, the Hexa, was earlier aired that it will make its launch in the month of November, but with a bit of an extension to its launch dates. And now, it will be introduced with prices in the second week of the January and bookings will also commence nearly at the same time. The car has been spied several times with some more clear details.
In terms of exterior, the range topping variants are expected to come packed with goodies such as projector headlamps with DRLs (daytime running lights) and 19 inch alloy wheels. Use of cladding has been done in a wise manner, giving it more of a rugged and rough appearance. Inside, the car will feature 10-speaker Harman infotainment system, leather upholstery, automatic climate control and ambient lighting as well.
The Hexa crossover is powered by Tata's 2.2-litre Varicor 400 unit that is capable to belt out maximum power of 154 bhp at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm between 1,700 - 2,700 rpm. The BS-IV compliant diesel mill will come paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic transmission. The crossover would also come with different terrain modes - Comfort, Auto, Dynamic and the Rough Road, inspired by Land Rover's terrain response system.
While for the safety, the company has also worked over it and expect the Hexa crossover to come with eight airbags, Anti-lock Brake system (ABS) with EBD and ESP. Expected to launch in January, the Hexa could priced between a range of Rs 12.5 lakh to Rs 17 lakh (Ex showroom).
