Tata motors is on a roll to launch a range of cars, just after the launch of Bolt, Zest, Tiago and Hexa, the brand is preparing to launch another new product - Kite 5. The company is currently testing the Kite 5 in India, and a test mule of the same has been spotted and posted by a twitter user.
The production variant of the Kite will be similar in terms design as the version shown in the Auto Expo 2016. The front end of the car has already been spotted without any camouflage, now the rear end has been spotted and exposes some of the rear elements. At the rear, the clear lens indicators have now been swapped with an orange lens indicator. Tata has also replaced the right side reverse lamp with a fog lamp. Additionally, the high mounted stop lamp is placed close to the roof.
The Indian manufacturer will offer the Kite 5 with the Tiago’s existing 1.2 liter Revotron petrol engine and 1.05 liter three cylinder diesel engine. The car will be further equipped with the choice of either a 5 speed manual or a 5 speed automated manual transmission system. Additionally the car also features options like Eco and City modes, Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with turn-by-turn navigation, dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD and CSC for better passenger safety. The compact sedan will also have a class leading boot space of 420 liters.
The Tata Kite 5 was scheduled to be launched in the festive season of 2016, but it got delayed and is expected to be launched in early 2017. Once launched, the Kite 5 will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Volkswagen Ameo etc.
