Tata Motors annouces to commence its business operations in Philippines

Tata Motors has announced that it will start its business operations in Philippines at the ongoing 2014 Manila International Auto Show. The annual event is the Philippines’ biggest vehicle show which is being held from 3rd April to 6th April in the country. Interestingly, Tata Motors has been showcasing the Indica, the Vista, the Indigo eCS and the Indigo Manza from its passenger car segments. The Xenon, tAce and Super Ace are from the commercial vehicle range is also on display. Tata Motors has been operating its export operations in several ASEAN and other countries since the year 1961. Last year the company entered the Indonesian market, which it’s eyeing as its biggest export hub.

Johnny Oommen, Head, International Business – Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors, said,‘We are delighted to announce our entry into this exciting market. We will enter with the Manza Sedan, Vista Hatch, Indigo Sedan and Indica Hatch. Going forward we plan to augment our offerings by including other products in our portfolio on a regular basis. We are very confident with our distribution partner and we believe that their extensive network along with our global expertise will bring into the Philippines market a range of exciting Tata vehicles. We hope our new range appeals to customers and builds trust in the brand, which is integral for us.”

Initially, all the aforementioned models will be exported to the Philippines market. The company has assigned the Pilipinas TajAutogroup Inc. for its vehicle distribution and marketing which is a reputed entity in Philippines who has handled similar operations for major auto brands- Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Chevrolet. Pilipinas TajAutogroup Inc. has been in the automobile business since past 50 years.
