Tata Motors launches Revotron labs across 15 cities

Snapshot: The mobile Revotron Labs features a futuristic 3D game through which participants can experience the engine’s multi-drive modes.

In the run-up to the launch of the Zest and the Bolt hatchback, Tata Motors have launched a nation-wide campaign to showcase its new Revotron 1.2T engine that will power the company’s two upcoming products. The campaign’s motive is to engage customers and create brand awareness for the India’s first 1.2-Litre MPFi turbocharged petrol engine. This the company hopes to achieve this by introducing the Tata Revotron Labs across the country - the first one of which, was inaugurated at the Ambience Mall in New Delhi by India’s F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, Ranjit Yadav, president of Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle business unit and Girish Wagh, senior vice presidents of programme planning and project management, Tata Motors.

Through Revotron Labs, customers will be able to experience the ‘Engine of the Future’ with creatively set-up high-tech Revotron holograms across 75 company dealerships. The experience also includes, the Revotron Challenge - an innovative and futuristic 3D game, which lets the participants to travel in the Zest sedan and brings live the engine’s multi-drive modes, i.e. Sport, Eco and the City. The game is also being offered for a free download on Apple App store and Google PlayStore for mobile devices. It can also be played online from the Revotron microsite.

Commenting on the launch, Ranjot Yadav, president of passenger vehicles, Tata Motors said, “The Revotron 1.2T has been developed by us with inputs from renowned global players like AVL, Bosch, Honeywell, Mahle, INA in the area of combustion, boosting, friction and calibration to deliver class-leading performance. The Revotron 1.2T will power out upcoming cars, the Zest and the Bolt. To narrate this exciting technology story, in the most impactful way, we are engaging with our customers through various exciting platforms like the Labs, the multi-drive-mode game, holograms and unique digital and on-ground activations. With innovative awareness campaigns likes these we are building a strong technology quotient for our global Indian customers.”

India’s first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan remarked, “I’ve been very closely involved in the development of the Revotron 1.2T. It is the first turbocharge MPFi petrol engine in its class, and one of the most advanced in the market. Coupled with the amazing multi-drive mode, it offers immense flexibility in terms of balancing performance and fuel efficiency.”
