Tata Motors - the homegrown automotive giant has named its upcoming premium urban hatchback as 'Altroz'. Altroz was unveiled as 45X concept at the Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida last year and now, Tata Motors will launch the production-spec of Altroz at the upcoming automobile expo - Geneva International Motor Show. The automaker also initiated a campaign for the enthusiasts to suggest names for the 45X.
The name is inspired by the magnificent bird called - 'Albatross' - a large seabird whose wingspan is 11 feet and is the biggest wingspan among birds. The brand is claiming that Altroz will go by the characteristics of the bird offering best-in-class in-cabin space, best-in-class performance and efficiency.

Altroz will be built on a new architecture devised by Tata Motors, called the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced). The homegrown automaker aims to come up with a new range of youthful and modern vehicles based on ALFA architecture. The Altroz is conceptualized under Tata Motors' successful design language called IMPACT 2.0 and the car aims at reinventing the urban car design that has class-leading connectivity and practical for everyday mobility. Altroz will be up against - Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz.
