Tata Motors would held the world premiere of an all-new sedan concept at the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The company has released a couple of teaser images of the all-new concept sedan, which is apparently a C-segment product and would challenge the likes of Honda City and Maruti Ciaz in the Indian market. The home-grown automaker had unveiled two all-new concept vehicles at the recently concluded 2018 Auto Expo in form of H5X SUV and 45X hatchback concept. The sedan concept, identical to the 45X concept, would be based on the Advanced Modular Platform (AMP).
The Honda City-rival sedan from the stable of Tata Motors is expected to be equal in length, measuring around 4.4 meters. It would be adorning the IMPACT 2.0 design language with a more coupé-like roofline rather than the conventional three-box shape. The sedan is believed to be carrying the traditional three-dimensional ‘humanity line’ at the front fascia. As we are already aware that IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy comes with ‘segment-leading wheel sizes’ and ‘strong fenders’, expect something on the similar lines with the sedan too. The interior cabin would have ample space with adequate boot capacity, while getting the latest premium features and infotainment system.
The Concept sedan would be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, albeit with more powerful Revotron and Revotorq engines. Besides the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox, Tata might also introduce a dual-clutch transmission, as an option. The company might well introduce a high-performance TJP variant of the sedan and an electric variant as well in future, but it's too early to say anything at the moment. This sedan project carries an investment of Rs. 400 Crores and is yet not given a 'go-ahead' to enter the production by the Tata Motors board of directors. The Concept would be unraveled on March 6, 2018 in Geneva, where Tata has unveiled quite a few iconic vehicles in the past such as Hexa and TaMo Racemo.
