Tata Motors will launch its most anticipated hatch the new Tiago in Mumbai tomorrow. After various delays and moreover, the name change from Zica to Tiago, the car is finally going to make its launch tomorrow. The small hatch will be available in brand new petrol and diesel engines. Tata Motors first unveiled the Tiago in December and is expected to range between Rs 4 lakh – Rs 5.5 lakh.
The Tiago hatchback is positioned under the Tata Bolt and above the Tata Nano, measuring 3,746 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,400 mm. The hatch bears company’s IMPACT design language, the Tiago is the first car to be designed, with key features like smoke headlights that merges with honeycomb grille, wraparound taillamps and integrated roof spoiler.
Inside, this hatch has a lot of space in terms of headroom and legroom. The Tiago features adjustable ORVMs, rear defogger, a Harman infotainment system with best in class music system, Bluetooth, AUX-In and USB connectivity, steering mounted audio controls & smartphone integration via Tata ConnectNEXT, TFT display.
Sharing Indica’s XO platform, the engine lineup includes a 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine made of an aluminium head with cast iron block that cranks out 70 PS @ 4000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1800-3000 rpm, while the petrol unit is a trimmed down version of the 1.2-litre Revotron engine that powers the Bolt and the Zest and has only 3-cylinders now. The engine is capable to produce 85 PS @ 6000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3500 rpm.
