Tata Motors, basking high in the glory of recently launched sedan Zest, didn't had respite in the sales department even after the much anticipated launch. The overall sales of the company declined by 18 percent in the month of August as the company sold a total of 40,883 units including commercial and passenger vehicles, while last year it sold 49,611 units during the same month.
As far as domestic market is concerned, Tata Motors went on to sale 36,403 units in the month of August against the 44,717 units during last year in same month. It meant a slumping in sales by 19 percent. The passenger vehicle segment, however, is reviving back as it registered a minimal de-growth of 5 percent in the month of August as the company sold a total of 10,975 units of its vehicles as compared to 11,564 units sold in August 2013.
