Tata Motors has now finally launched the all new Tata Nano CNG emax that it unveiled at Horizonxt earlier this year. Sporting the CNG and petrol bi-fuel system, the car produces carbon footprint as low as 75.6 g/km and returns a whooping 36 km.kg of mileage. The Nano CNG emax will be made available across CNG markets like Delhi, Gujarat, Lucknow and parts of Maharashtra.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ankush Arora- Sr. Vice President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit (Commercial), Tata Motors Ltd., said, "At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is anticipating what our customers need and blending it with the best-in-class technology and design engineering. This helps us arrive at an end product that suits the inherent automotive needs of our customers in a holistic way. From its inception, the Nano has been a path-breaking invention and the CNG version only adds to that and also underlines our commitment to be a sustainable automotive player."
The sequential gas injection system of the Nano CNG emax is aligned with an Engine Management System (EMS) for smart switching between CNG and Gasoline fuel systems. This system helps the vehicle sense when the driver needs more power, so automatically shifts to gasoline mode, and this happens just effortless due to a push-button fuel type selector.
While in petrol mode, the Nano churns out a maximum power output of 37.5bhp, it develops 32.5bhp in CNG mode. The engine comes mated to a five-speed (4 Forward and 1 Reverse) manual transmission. The Tata Nano CNG emax price range starts at Rs. 2.52 Lakhs, ex-showroom- Mumbai for the Nano CX and goes upto Rs. 2.77 Lakhs, ex-showroom- Mumbai, for the Nano LX.
