We have already heard a lot about Tata Nano's much anticipated CNG version, though there was no official confirmation about its launch plan till now. But now Tata Motors has cleared that the CNG version will be introduced on time, there will be no delay in that like many are guessing. And when we contacted to our close sources, they made it clear that the vehicle could be launched any day from 5th to 7th October.
Named as Tata Nano emax, the CNG version of the car was unveiled by Tata Motors at the Horizonext earlier this year, where other 7 vehicles too were showcased. The Nano emax CNG features a fuel quality checking system and an automatic CNG cut-off system, to ensure hurdle free drives. Offered with a combination of petrol + CNG, the vehicle will return an impressive 36kmpl of mileage in the CNG mode. While running in the petrol mode, the Nano CNG produces 37.5bhp, it churns out 32bhp in CNG mode.
Since the 2013 Nano is already an updated one in terms of performance and features, the major change given to the emax is the CNG mill. Other than the CNG version of the Nano, the homegrown auto major is also working on a diesel avatar of the car, which we believe will be rolled out by the first quarter of 2014. However, the vehicle might be showcased at the upcoming 2014 Indian Auto Expo.
