Tata Motors has officially revealed the details of the Nexon AMT version and the AMT variant of the compact SUV will be sold in the top-spec XZA+ trim only on both the petrol and diesel engines. We can expect the Nexon AMT to get introduced sometime in the next month. Apart from of the new badging at the rear, Tata is also offering a new exterior paint that will be available in a dual-tone scheme in orange and silver.
Mechanically, the Nexon is offered in both petrol and diesel guise – 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine with 108bhp of maximum power and 179Nm of top torque, and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel turbocharged engine that belts out 108bhp with 260Nm of peak torque, where these engines will come mated to a new 6-speed automatic manual transmission along with a manual mode. The AMT version will come with the same 3 drive mode - Eco, City and Sport, while when you change the mode to the manual, the transmission will automatically get in the Sport mode. Apart from this, the transmission also comes with a hill assist and a creep function.
In terms of equipment, the top-spec XZA+ variant will feature projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, front fog lamps, wearable smart key and a Harman-sourced 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is Android Auto compatible. The car will ride on the same 16 inch alloy wheels.
Speaking of the pricing, Tata Nexon AMT could be priced around Rs 50,000 more that the current top-spec models – the XZ+ petrol variant with the dual-tone roof that is sold at Rs 9.02 lakh while the XZ+ diesel variant costs Rs 9.89 lakh (All Prices Ex Showroom, Delhi).
