The forthcoming AMT variant of Tata Nexon has been recently spied and the spy images reveal some more pieces of information of the model. Tata Motors is set to launch its first compact SUV, Tata Nexon in India during the festive season this year, which will be followed by the launch an AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) variant within a period of six months.
The Indian-spec model represents a uniquely designed exterior, which will prove to be more impactful in terms of styling. It is equipped with projector headlamps, similar to the Bolt hatchback, while the side profile looks equally appealing. The car will run on the 16-inch alloy wheels, which adds sportiness to the look.
The interior of the new SUV features the latest technology and offers a modern look. It also features a three-spoke steering wheel that also supports voice over commands through Bluetooth. The dashboard of the car is newly designed with a 6.5-inch infotainment system featuring latest technologies to assist simpler driving experience.
The automaker is looking forward to introduce more products with AMT and is investing huge for its development. The spy images reveal the placement of a gear selector, which looks similar to that present in the usual AMT variants of Tata Motors. But, the housing of the gear selector looks different from the existing Tata models with a 5-speed AMT. It is offered with a 6-speed AMT and is expected to offer different driving modes. The spy images also clarify that the spotted car belonged to the top-end XZ trim.
The India-bound AMT variant of the Nexon is expected to be the first car from Tata to offer both the petrol and diesel engine options. Once launched, it will be competing with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV 300, which offer an optional automatic transmission.
