Tata Motors launched the Nexon in 2017 in the Indian market and the brand has rolled out its 100,000th Tata Nexon from its Ranjangaon production facility. Tata Motors has achieved the milestone within 22 months of the Tata Nexon’s Launch in September 2017.
Since its launch, Tata Nexon has received an overwhelming response from the Indian car buyers and also owns a crown of country’s safest car. Nonetheless, the Nexon SUV has been the second most selling compact SUV in the past 1 year. Earlier we also informed you that the Nexon SUV gets a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP crash test, making it is the only car in the country to receive such achievement.
In terms of feature, the SUV comes packed with 6.5-inch infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity, automatic climate control, steering-mounted buttons, reverse parking camera with guidelines, rear AC vents, and 8-speaker Harman audio system.
Under the bonnet, the Nexon SUV is offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The petrol variant gets a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged unit that makes 108 bhp with 170 Nm and the diesel variant comes with a 1.5-litre Revotorq turbocharged diesel motor that develops the same power of 108 bhp and a peak torque of 260 Nm. Both the engines come paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox and also with a choice of a 6-speed amt. The Nexon SUV also gets Multi-Drive modes – Eco, City and Sport.
In the Indian market, Tata Nexon competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, recently launched Mahindra XUV300 as well as Hyundai Venue, where it has been competitively priced between Rs 6.58 lakh – Rs 10.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
