Key features of the Tata electric SUV are available before its unveiling.
The Tata Nexon EV is priming up for a world premiere on Thursday at Mumbai. Here are some of the crucial details that the world is excitedly waiting to hear.
Tata Nexon EV – Robust Battery
Tata Nexon EV will come with the renowned Ziptron technology. As with any other electric vehicle, the SUV will have a floor-mounted battery to neutralize the center of gravity. Hence, this vehicle will have a minimalistic body design when compared to its petrol or diesel counterparts, The 28.8kWh battery pack energizes the motor to deliver a power of 95kW (129hp) and torque of 254Nm.
Tata Nexon EV – Excellent Mileage
The Tata Nexon EV will be capable of delivering a minimum of 300km on a single charge. This SUV could feature a fast-charging mode that can recharge the battery up to 80% in less than an hour. However, the standard AC charger could take anything between eight to nine hours to charge the battery to 100%. Other exciting features to expect are hill assist and energy generation functionality during the coasting mode. Tata plans to offer an extended warranty of 8 tears or 1.60 lakh km as the standard.
Tata Nexon EV – Size Does Matter
The dimensions of the Tata Nexon EV will be 3995mm X 1181 mm x 1607mm (LxWxH). Though the e-SUV has the same wheelbase of 2498mm as the Nexon pre-Facelift version, it will come with a lower ground clearance of 209mm when compared to the standard size of 215mm. Maybe, the unique suspension calibration could be the reason.
Tata Nexon EV – Great Features
The Tata Nexon EV exterior features include fully automatic LED headlights with LED DRLs, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding wing mirrors. The Tata Nexon EV interiors sport a push-button start function, a power sunroof, a wearable key, and a smart key. The passengers will relish the Harmon-sourced entertainment system. Other premium features include park assist and a rear-view camera. It will come equipped with Tata’s in-house ConnectNext Connectivity suite that provides for app-based functions and voice commands. The e-SUV will be available in two variants and come with dual-tone exterior colour combinations and automatic controls.
Tata Nexon EV – The Competition
The Tata Nexon EV price could be around Rs 15 lakhs, thereby making it an affordable all-electric SUV by the end of next year. It will have stiff competition from the MG ZS EV (around Rs 22 lakhs) and the Hyundai Kona Electric (approximately Rs 23.72 to 23.90 lakhs). The best match could come from one of its brethren, the Tata Altroz EV that is in the production stage now. This EV could be available at around the Rs 12 lakh mark. Other direct competitors could include the Mahindra eKUV and the Ford Aspire based e-sedan. Maybe Maruti Suzuki might also come up with a small E-SUV, the Futuro-E Concept at the 2020 Auto Expo.
