Tata Nexon XZ, XZ+, XZA+ trims get a larger 7-inch touchscreen
XT trim replaced by XT+ trim
XT+ gets 8-speaker audio system with USB/Aux/Bluetooth, rear AC vents, DRLs, projector headlamps, driver’s seat height adjustment, front fog lamps
XT+ Rs 7000 dearer than XT trim
The Tata Nexon has received a mild upgrade, beginning with the larger 7-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. The previous screen was a 6.5 inch one. The larger screen will be available on the XZ, XZ+ and XZA+ trim levels.
The bigger update is to the XT trim level – it is now replaced by an ‘XT+’ trim level that adds a few features that were not previously available on the XT. These include an 8 speaker audio system with USB/aux/Bluetooth connectivity, rear AC vents, a driver’s seat with height adjustment, projector headlamps with DRLs, and front fog lamps.

These features are available for an increase of Rs 7000 over the outgoing XT’s price, making it approximately Rs 8 lakh for the petrol and Rs 8.9 lakh for the diesel, ex-showroom, Delhi. The changes to the Nexon are only feature-based. The driveline hasn’t changed; it continues to be powered by either a 1.2-litre petrol or a 1.4-litre diesel engine, with the option of AMT gearboxes on both.
The Nexon has certainly become more value for money with the update, but it still will have to earn its customers, as it sits in a segment crowded with great options like the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV300, and Hyundai Venue.
