Tata Nexon has been making headlines and grabbing eyeballs ever since the company announced the plans of launching it during the festive season in September 2017 in the Indian market. With series production commencing last week in Ranjangaon, the home-grown automaker has now released the official images of the interior cabin of the SUV, alongside all the info on the features. Being the fourth product to be based on the IMPACT design philosophy after Tiago, Hexa and Tigor, the Nexon SUV would pose threat to the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300 in the country.
Tata Nexon would get a first-in-segment 6.5-inch HD touchscreen display, which would be floating at dashtop. As per the company, the floating dashtop touchscreen not only makes infotainment usage easy but it also reduces “eye-off road time” for added safety. It would boast of an advanced HARMAN infotainment system enabled with a drive mode based HMI theme. Additionally, Tata Nexon would also be equipped with Android Auto and Car Play (Car play to be offered soon). The improved connectivity with help of Google’s android auto via USB would enable the user to access calling, messaging, navigation and voice assistance from the infotainment system. The system would have the ability of read text & Whatsapp messages and voice based reply commands.
The Nexon SUV would also come with the “Grand Central Console” with unique sliding tambour door mechanism to allow easy storage space. Mechanically, the sub-compact SUV would be available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with 110PS 1.2L 3-cylinder turbocharged Revotron engine and 110PS 1.5L 4-cylinder Revotorq engine, respectively. Both the engines would be available with a 6-speed transmission. Taking a leaf out of Hexa's book, the Nexon would also get the first-in-segment Multi Drive Mode feature with three different drive modes – Eco, City and Sport. Driver can seamlessly switch between the modes, while each mode ensures that vehicle delivers the performance as per the requirement of driver.
