Tata Motors, the home-grown automaker, has unveiled the prodcution version of the Nexon compact SUV at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Nexon is expected too be launched in by the end of 2016 in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. Tata Nexon compact SUV follows the company's next generation IMPACT design language. For those asking, Tata Nexon debuted as concept vehicle at the 2014 Auto Expo, around two years back. It would be challenging the likes of Ford EcoSport, TUV300 and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
The Nexon compact SUV comes with aerodynamic front pillars which provide a large windshield area. The front fascia has the traditional Chrome Humanity Line on the upper grille with projector headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs). The compact SUV rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, while the stylish LED tail-lamp cluster with chrome accents completes the exterior designing. Inside the cabin, Tata Nexon has an electric power assisted steering. The compact SUV also boasts of a 6.5-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with 8-speakers, voice control and command recognition. The interior cabin also comprises of a remium grand console with arm rest.
Tata Nexon would be launched in both petrol and diesel fuel trims. The petrol variants would get a 1.2L turbocharged engine, while the diesel variants would derive their power from a 1.5L motor which would generate 108bhp of top power and 260Nm of peak torque. Both the engines would be linked to a 6-speed manual transmission with three driving modes. Just so you know, the model on display at the 2016 Auto Expo has a diesel powerplant. The sportier character of the Nexon is also accentuated by its ground clearance of 200mm and dual path suspension system. The compact SUv has already started testing at the Indian roads and has been spied several times with camouflage.
