News about the upcoming Tata Nexon compact SUV have been making rounds in the Indian automobile market from quite some time now. Now a recent image suggests that the car is in its final phase of testing, which goes in line with latest reports that suggest that the launch could happen as early as the September 2017.
Tata Nexon is a perfect follow up to company previously launched four wheelers, the Tata Tiago, Hexa and Tigor. The captured image seems to be of the top-end variant, which is equipped with alloy wheels.
The new Tata Nexon will have an edge over the competitors like Vitara Brezza and Ford Ecosport with its exquisite designing. The Nexon sports a humanity line on the upper Grille, along with projector headlamps accompanied with Daytime running light. While at the rear, it gets an LED tail lamp.
Initially, Nexon will be launched in India with a diesel engine. According to the latest reports, Nexon will be equipped with a new 1.5-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that can churn up a maximum power of 110ps and a peak torque of 260Nm. However, a petrol variant installed with 1.2-litre turbocharged engine can make an entry in the Indian market in near future.
The Nexon will be available in both 6-speed manual gearbox and 6-speed automatic transmission options. It is expected to deliver an average fuel output of 22 kmpl.
