A few days earlier the Indian automobile giant Tata, broadcasted a new and exclusive way to buy the little car Nano, the company termed it as ‘Swipe your card and buy a Nano’. Before this new system could die down, Tata has managed to come up with another way of buying it, the electronic way. Now buying a Nano is as easy as buying a flash drive online. This new marketing strategy by Tata was created keeping the extremely high usage of the Internet in mind.
The brand's main focus is on the new age youngsters who are more comfortable doing everything online, than physically. The not so old method of swiping your card was a stepping stone for Tata in the field of online marketing. The Nano is currently priced at 1.64 lakhs plus taxes ex-showroom. Tata is very keen on selling the Nano, in a very depressed Indian car market, which day by day is going down.
Currently Nano sales are roughly 2000 units per month, which is 10% less than the target. The production plant in Sanand, Gujrat has the competence to manufacture almost 200,000 Nanos. But it is being of no use to Tata, as the sales of the Nano are currently going down bit by bit. The refreshed Nano which hit the market very recently is the most energy resourceful petrol vehicles in India today. Not only that the company also has given a sneak peak at the CNG version. This CNG model will be named as Emax CNG, this model will have the switching option between petrol and CNG, which will definitely increase the mileage.
The president of passenger vehicle business unit Mr. Ranjit Yadav said that the new online marketing strategy can help parents buy the cars online to gift it to their children, this very motivating development in the sales of the Nano. The customers who want to buy the car online, no need to make the full payment, they can just pay the booking amount, and after the transaction has been completed. The customer can get the car from any nearest Tata dealership or get it delivered to their doorstep.
