The Indian government is working hard on embracing the electric automobile infrastructure. However, it’s not just the infrastructure, but also the personal mindset of the customers and prospective buyers that the government will have to deal with, to get India to be electric-ready by 2030. Keeping this in mind, Tata Power has set up its first charging station in Vikhroli in Mumbai.

With this new setup, Tata Power plans to build a strong network through which the future of Indian mobility could be EV-ready. The CEO and MD of Tata Power, Mr Anil Sardana, proudly mentioned how the company is looking to set high standards by adopting the most sustainable practices. For this, the company involves energy efficient processes and innovative technology.

The new power station set up will facilitate people to charge their electric cars, like Mahindra e2o and Nissan Leaf, safely and conveniently. The chargers installed can even monitor various parameters of the car like charge consumed and the battery charging status. Tata Power is also planning many more of such power stations in other parts of Mumbai and is already in discussion with various stakeholders about the same.

The Indian automobile market presently does not have many electric vehicles because of the lack of proper infrastructure. However, with the initiative will definitely enable the automakers and prospective buyers to go for electric vehicles with primary focus.
