Tata Motors is all set to launch the Tata Safari Storme facelift and new Nano Genx in the coming few days in the country. Yesterday, we informed you about the company's promotional campaign regarding the new Tata Nano Genx for existing Nano customers, and now we have come up with the official brochure of new Safari Storme, courtesy our friends at Motorbeam. Tata Safari Storme Facelift would be more powerful and have several cosmetic upgrades over the ongoing model.
Going by the leaked brochure, the new Safari Storme would be launched in three trims - LX, EX and VX. The range-topping VX grade would be offered in both 4X2 and 4X4 drive system with a shift-on-the-fly system and a limited slip differential. The entry-level LX trim would be deprived of rear disc brakes as it would get Drum brakes with auto adjuster. It would ride on 15-inch steel wheels, while the mid-level EX variant would flaunt 16-inch steel wheels, followed by the 16-inch alloys of top-end VX variant. The base LX variant would have a seating capacity of 5 persons, while the EX and VX would come as a 7-seater vehicle. The new Land Rover-sourced honeycomb upper and lower front grille with redesigned bumper is a major cosmetic change at front fascia of the facelifted Safari Storme.
Inside the cabin, the new Tata Safari Stomre would boast features like Power steering with Adjustable steering column, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and AC), Electrically adjustable ORVMs with turn indicators, Remote central locking with flip key, 3-Position lumbar support for front seats, and 60:40 foldable 2nd row seats as standard across the entire variant line-up. The interiors would be finished in dual-tone Java Black and Black with black fabric seats. The centre console would be done in Warm Silver for the EX and VX trims, while the base trim would get it in Java Black color. The major upgrade inside the cabin is the introduction of the Harman-developed integrated audio system with Bluetooth, Aux and USB connectivity and steering mounted controls with EX and VX trims along with a new 3-spoke steering wheel.
As for safety of the occupants, the Safari Storme facelift gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ultrasonic reverse guide system, front and rear fog lamps, door open warning, and seat belt unfastening warning. However, all of these features are on offer with top-spec VX and none of the aforementioned safety feature is available with the base LX trim. Talking about the engine and transmission, Tata Safari Storme facelift would be powered by a 2.2L VARICOR diesel engine which would generate a maximum power of 148bhp at 4000rpm and peak torque of 320Nm at 1700-2700rpm. It would be linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. The new SUV would be presented in five colors - Urban Bronze, Astern black, Pearl White, Arctic White and Arctic Silver. Projector headlamps are standard across entire variant range.
