There is no denying the fact that Tata Safari is the quintessential SUV of India, made in India, developed for India. While Tata kept on selling the Safari SUV, they also introduced Safari Storme, a buff looking interpretation of the standard Safari. And now, it seems, Tata is planning a makeover for the Storme, at least the recent spy shots from Team BHP suggests so!
While the Tata Safari Storme facelift has been caught testing quite a few times before, the recent spy shots by a Team BHP member indicate that Tata Motors is working on a mild cosmetic update for the Storme, which is expected to launch by mid-2015. The shots are completely undisguised.
While most of the SUV is unchanged from the outside, one can't stop noticing the new honeycomb grille, a design cue certainly borrowed from the Range Rover Evoque (Tata owns Jaguar-Land Rover). The front air dampers also get a similar honeycomb grille while the changes on the inside will be more comprehensive.
As per the current trend, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with an integrated display for the reverse camera will make its way replacing the single-din system. The seating is also expected to get more comfortable, with captain's chair styled middle row and front facing bench-type rear seats. Engine details are still scarce.
Once launched, the updated Safari Storme will rival the new Mahindra Scorpio. The expected launch price could be between Rs 10 -14 Lakh!
