India has huge group of enthusiasts, but then a major chunk of the crowd loves budget and value for money products. That is where companies like Tata and Maruti kicks in and make their revenues. To cater to the needs of the enthusiastic group, manufacturers like Fiat, Tata and Volkswagen come up with hot hatches like the Punto 90hp, Polo TSI and Vista D90. The market appreciates such moves but then play it down by not supporting such cars.
This the story of the Vista D90 is rather interesting. The Vista D90 came into existence with a thought that it will serve the purpose for enthusiastic group of the country. The hot hatch had very selected competition and the company promoted the car in a good way to attract more attention. As the Indian giant is preparing for the future with their Falcon project, Tata is said to have stop the production of the Vista D90, which has the protruding body kits, and is also offered in color of bringle!
Tata powered the Vista D90 with a 1.3 Multijet turbo supplied by Fiat with a power rated at 90 Bhp and with 200 Nm of maximum torque. That hatchback carried the proud badge of being the most powerful hatchback Tata ever built. The Tata Vista D90, which carried the weight of representing Tata in the world of hot hatches could not satisfy the demands of the buyers and Tata decided to stop the production of the car completely. Tata is currently trying to clear the stock of Vista D90 in its showrooms. The discontinuation of the D90 translates into a performance oriented products of the flacon range.
This move could be to accommodate the next generation Vista, which is codenamed Flacon 4 is in development stage currently. It is expected that Tata will launch new Falcon platform somewhere around AutoExpo scheduled to happen in February next year. The next generation Falcon products will have improved interiors and exteriors and will replace the current line-up of Vista/Manza.
