After previewing the much-hyped H5X and 45X concepts at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2018, Tata Motors is setting the stage for the upcoming 2018 Geneva Motor Show, which will begin early next month. Days ahead of the most coveted event on the motoring calendar, Tata Motors has released a teaser image of its sedan concept, which will be unveiled on March 6, 2018.

Reports in media opine, Tata Motors has been contemplating a C segment sedan, to rival the likes of Honda City and at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, the company will preview a new concept. The sedan concept in question is ostensibly built on Tata’s new Advanced Modular Platform (AMP) that will also underpin the 45X hatchback. In terms of styling, the concept is likely to be based on Tata’s new design philosophy. That said, it is likely to ditch the conventional three-box shape for a more contemporary look, sporting a coupe-like roofline.

In tandem with Tata’s new Impact 2.0 design tenet, which promises ‘segment-leading wheel sizes’ and ‘strong fenders’ for better road presence, expect the sedan concept to get similar elements. The three-dimensional ‘humanity line’, underlining the grille and headlights is also expected to be seen on the concept, akin to the 45X hatchback. The sedan is expected to offer generous room for the occupants on the inside and a large boot for storing luggage. Besides, Tata Motors is expected to get advanced in-car connectivity features.

In terms of mechanicals, expect the production spec model to get more powerful versions of Tata’s Revotron petrol and Revotorq diesel engine. Transmission duties could be carried over by a manual unit and an optional dual-clutch gearbox. Tata could add a sportier JTP and an EV version of the sedan at a later stage, albeit there is no clarity on the same.
