There is no wonder in saying that Tata Motors has made a good decision in introducing the Tiago hatch in the Indian car market. Where other Tata products are registering decent sales in the market, this hatch has made the company crossed 4,205 unit sales, exceeding the monthly sales of 4,000 units in the month of June 2016. With such an appreciable response from the consumers for the Tiago hatchback the company has decided to get more tweaked versions.
It has been confirmed that the homegrown car manufacturer will launch the AMT version of the Tiago hatchback by the festive season giving a competition to its rivals. Though, there are no details as when the automaker will launch the Plus and Aktiv version but looking at the interest of consumers in the these segments, but the launch of these two is expected to follow the Tata Tiago AMT launch.
The Tiago AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) variant is the next and the most anticipated launch by Tata Motors. Recently, the development of the AMT version came into light through a spyshot, when the car was being tested on the Indian streets. The Tiago AMT will most likely featured with a petrol power train. As far as the design is concerned, there are no changes to the exterior. Currently, Tata has two products on slot that has AMT – the Nano GenX and the Zest.
Coming to the Tiago Plus, it will be a performance enhanced version of the Tiago. The hot-hatch of Tiago will be power packed with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit, which is tuned release the power of nearly 120 horses. Being a power-packed, it will definitely be costlier of the regular model and could range between Rs 6.5 lakh - Rs 7.5 lakh. It could also feature a lowered and stiffened suspension for a sporty ride and better handling.
Going the through the market, Tata Motors has thought of an Aktiv version too. It is a crossover version of the Tata Tiago Hatchback which is expected to make its launch by the end of the year 2017. Mechanically, it is expected to come packed with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel and a 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol unit, incorporated in the standard hatchback version. Exterior wise, the Tiago Aktiv is most likely to get black plastic cladding, front and rear bumpers with skid plates, big chunky tires, and roof rails.Initially, the company will launch this model with limited production and with the increasing response, the production will be increased.
