Tata Tiago and Tigor Launched With Fully Digital Instrument Cluster

Tata Motors has silently updated the Tiago and Tigor with a fully digital instrument cluster in the country. The speculations indicated that it will be introduced with the mid-cycle facelift of the duo but the company hasn't waited at all. The Tata Tiago price now starts at Rs 5.84 Lakhs while Tata Tigor is priced at Rs 6.99 Lakhs (Both are Ex. Showroom, Delhi). Mechanically, both the hatchback and the sedan are unchanged with the same set of BS 4 petrol and diesel engines.

Speaking of the new digital instrument cluster, it is a monochrome unit which comprises of a tachometer on the left and a gauge on the right while there is a speedometer at the center and a driver's information display at the top. Currently, the Tiago is available in a total of seven trim levels while the Tigor is offered in six grades. However, the fully digital instrument cluster is only available with range-topping XZ+ and XZA+ variants. The features on Tiago include a 2-DIN touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, MP3, AuX and Smartphone connectivity, Steering mounted audio and phone controls, etc. to name a few. The Tigor comes loaded with a Harman touchscreen infotainment system with eight speakers, AUX, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity and Android smartphone-based navigation.

As far as the safety features are concerned, both the cars get dual front airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Child Safety Lock as standard. The petrol variants are powered by the 1.2L 3-cylinder Revotron engine with a power output of 83bhp and torque performance of 114Nm,  mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variants draw power from a 1.05L 3-cylinder Revotorq engine with the highest power of 69bhp and peak torque of 140Nm with a 5-speed manual transmission at the helm. Both the Tiago and Tigor are also available in high-performance avatar with JTP badging while priced at Rs 6.69 Lakhs and Rs 7.59 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi), respectively.
