Tata Motors is likely to launch the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP on October 26 in India. The homegrown car manufacturer did not have any product that could compete with the Maruti Suzuki’s Baleno RS and Volksagen’s Polo GT versions. The Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will come with the same petrol engine as seen on the Nexon, but some considerable modifications will also come in the package. The performance enhanced version of the Tiago and Tigor has been jointly developed by Tata Motors and Jayem Automotives.
Exterior wise, being a performance enhanced version of the regular models, the Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP are expected to get sporty appearance with bumpers and larger air intakes, newly designed fog lamp housing, smoked headlamps and front with a JTP badging. We can expect it to ride on a set of 15 inch alloy wheels. The ground clearance has been lowered by 9mm, compared to the standard version. On the inside, the car will feature red accents on the black dashboard, leather seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminium pedals. Both the models will also come with a 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system.
Interesting part comes under the bonnet. Both, Tata Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP will be power packed with a 1.2-litre Revotron turbo-petrol engine that makes 109bhp of maximum power and 150Nm of peak torque. transmission duties will be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox and as we mentioned earlier, the car will get some tweaks to its suspension setup for better driving dymnamics.
